What this means for you, loyal reader, is that my somewhat irregular postings will become slightly more irregular. I'll have to do it at home, and I have low-speed internet. I'm not that patient, and tblog takes fucking forever to load on my computer.

For that, I apologize. I'll keep trying to post whenever I feel the need, so check back maybe once a month. There may be a surprise for you. But don't complain. It isn't like you're paying for this shit.

We claim to celebrate independence, yet we don't want a man to be "independent" enough to burn a flag to express his discontent with the government because it offends most of us. We shoot off our fireworks, yet we don't think people should be "independent" enought to defend their home or property with a firearm. Better they just wait for the police to show up.

We go out and grill our burgers and chicken, yet over half of us vote for a political party that thinks YOUR money is better in THEIR hands. "Give it to us, we'll take care of you." (and the other political party isn't much better.)

We claim to support "independence" yet most of us don't even know how much money we make. I didn't say how much money we take home, but how much we are actually paid before Uncle Sam gets his grubby little hands on it. How independent can we be as a nation when we're not even aware how much of OUR money we actually EARN but never even see?

How "independent" are we when our nation's businesses and universities are free to look for the best, brightest, or most qualified, but only after ensuring they have filled a quota based on gender or color?

Is it "independence" when we'd rather let the Federal Government take our money and dole it out to us after we retire than keep that money and prepare for our retirement on our own? Is it "independence" to support campaign laws that dictate how much money can be spent on political contributions?

American is no longer a nation of free, independent individuals. We are a collective organism supporting a bloated federal government. We live in a symbiotic relationship where we are the host and the government is the parasite. When this government needs to spend money, it doesn't look to cut spending in superflous or unnecessary areas, it simply opens a fresh wound and sucks more lifeblood out of the organism it feeds on. But there most of you were, yesterday, grilling your chicken and drinking your beer and shooting off your fireworks. Happy 4th of July.

How come I haven't heard of this before now? Has anyone seen it? Was it any good? Will we get a Region 1 DVD? See, folks, here's what's wrong with Hollywood. It's not all the remakes, it's that they remake the wrong stuff. Hollywood, start making movies with giant robots. That'll get people back in the theaters.
