Congrats, ya buncha babies
08.27.04 (4:33 pm)   [edit]
An atypical blog today.

I want to congratulate the USA Men's Basketball team on the worst Olympic showing ever by a USA Men's Basketball team. Here are the results of USA Men's Basketball:

1936: 8 wins, 0 losses, Gold Medal
1948: 8-0, Gold
1952: 8-0, Gold
1956: 8-0, Gold
1960: 8-0, Gold
1964: 9-0, Gold
1968: 9-0, Gold
1972: 8-1, Sliver*
1976: 7-0, Gold
1984: 8-0, Gold
1988: 7-1, Bronze
1992: 8-0, Gold
1996: 8-0, Gold
2000: 8-0, Gold
2004: 3-3, ????

This was just a poor showing all around for Team USA basketball, and the players, coaches, and anyone involved with Team USA basketball ought to hang their heads in shame.

*The 1972 team lost in the Gold Medal game to the USSR in the most controversial game in Olympic history. Trailing by one point with 6 seconds left, USA's Doug Collins stole a pass from the USSR's Alexander Belov. Collins drove for a layup and was undercut by the USSR with three second left. Collins, shaken up from the foul, went to the line and sank both free throws. The Soviets inbounded the ball while their assistant coach charged onto the floor screaming that his team had asked for a timeout (which, in international rules, should have been a technical foul) The officials halted play with one second left. Three second were added to the clock and the Soviets were granted their timeout. The Soviets inbounded the ball again, the horn sounded before the Soviets could get a shot off, and the Americans celebrated their apparent victory. R. William Jones, International Amatuer Basketball Association (FIBA) Secretary, stepped in and said that the clock hadn't been reset properly. This is akin to NBA Commisioner David Stern or NFL Commish Paul Tagliabue stepping to correct officials during a game, they have no authority to do so (a point which Jones conceded prior to his death). The teams were ordered back to the floor with the clock reset to three seconds YET AGAIN. This time, the Soviets inbounded the ball and sank the shot as the horn sounded. The US team refused to accept their Silver medals or step onto the podium at the medal ceremony. The US appealed the results to a 5 member FIBA panel, but the appeal was turned down 3-2. The three votes against came from Soviet-bloc judges. The unclaimed silver medals are still in a vault at IOC headquarters.

The Lies Keep On 'A Comin'

Here's another one from the "Honorable" Senator Kerry. In a speech he made on January 20th, 2003.

"I remember well April, 1968 - I was serving in Vietnam—a place of violence -- when the news reports brought home to me and my crewmates the violence back home - and the tragic news that one of the bullets flying that terrible spring took the life of that unabashedly maladjusted citizen."

Kerry, by "unabashedly maladjusted citizen," meant Martin Luther King, Jr. He was, after all, making a speech on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. There's just a slight problem....
Dr. King was unfortunately murdered on April 4, 1968 at 6:01 pm, local time. John Kerry, did not report for duty in Vietnam until November 17, 1968, SEVEN MONTHS after Dr. King was murdered. Not to be repetetive, but what if George Bush had said something like this? Would I have to be the one to tell you about it?

You've probably all heard of the "connection" between Bush and the Swift Vets (the connection being the fact that the Bush campaign's lawyer advised the Swift Vets on rules regarding 527's.) Well, since the National News Media won't point out the connections between the Kerry campaign and SEVERAL liberal 527's, the Bush campaign has done the homework for you. No less than 10 people are named as having connections between the Kerry campaign and these 527's. Folks, you need to educate yourselves. Don't rely on the National News Media, or me, or conservative talk show hosts, for your information. Get out there and find stuff out. You'll be surprised at the amount of information that is being WITHELD from you.

2ble Standard
08.25.04 (4:42 pm)   [edit]
Sorry for the lack of new posts. My new work schedule prevents me from posting on Mondays and Tuesdays because I get off work early. I may try to make up for it with a weekend posting, but don't hold your breath.

Anybody else catching the double standard from the "unbiased" National News Media? Let's recap: Lawyer Benjamin Ginsberg has stepped down from the Bush campaign because of his connection with the Swift Vets. AHA! THAT'S IT! THE MAGIC BULLET! Bush-haters out there are rejoicing, they think they've finally found the connection. NOT SO FAST! Actually, Ginsberg is an acknowledged expert on that affront to the First Amendment...the McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Reform Act, of which there are few. The Swift Vets came to Ginsberg to be sure that their ads, in fact, their very existence, did not violate McCain-Feingold. You can tell that this story doesn't have much steam, because after a brief search of the usual suspect (aka MSNBC, CNN, CBS News, ABC News), there weren't the usual "BUSH LINKED TO SWIFT VETS!" headlines, just the less-propagandist "Bush lawyer with Swift Vet ties steps down."

What you won't hear is that Kerry Campaign staffer Zach Exley served as the organizing director of MoveOn.org, a 527 group like the Swift Vets. And the photo of Josh Wachs of the DNC, Sen. Patrick Leahy, and Zach Exley (then of MoveOn.org) together. Tuh-RAY-zuh Heinz Kerry at a MoveOn.org House Party. Don't forget, I previously mentioned Jim Jordan, former Kerry campaign manager who currently works for the anti-Bush sensitive war on terror. I want a guy who will tell me the truth, not a guy that tells me that he was in Cambodia during Christmas 1968 (SEARED, BY GOD!), then says "maybe it was January. I want a guy that cuts MY taxes, not a guy that calls me "the rich" and takes more than I already pay. I want a guy who is deeply reliant on his faith, not a man that believes against the partial birth abortion ban. This is guy who wants it both ways, and the National News Media is only to happy to give it to him because they don't want Bush to be President in 2004.

On a more positive note, NASCAR makes me proud.

The France family, basically the Kennedy's of NASCAR, each donated the maximum $2,000 to GWB. Internationl Speedway Corporation, which owns practically ALL of the tracks NASCAR goes to, donated $7,500 to the RNC. Teresa Earnhardt, widow of the greatest driver in NASCAR history gave the maximum to GWB2004. Dale Jarrett (the guy who won the first race I ever went to, one of the sports true "gentlemen") and Darrell Waltrip (one of the best ever) both gave the maximum. Rick Hendrick, car owner for this little bastard (heretofore referred to in this column as "little bastard" or "he who shall not be named") gave a total of $4000 to the Breck Girl. As if I needed ANOTHER reason to hate the "little bastard."

Malkin vs. Hardball
08.20.04 (1:46 pm)   [edit]
Asian-American Cutie Michelle Malkin was on Hardball with Chris Matthews, one of the members of the "un-biased" National New Media, and had a pretty interesting exchange. Here's the transcript. It's about three fourths of the way down. You should also read the Thurlow-Matthews exchange prior to that, its pretty entertaining. Larry Thurlow is the a commander of one of the SWIFT boats involved in the "combat" that earned John Kerry his "Bronze Star." Thurlow has recently come out to say that his and the other SWIFT boats involved NEVER came under enemy fire (a condition which must be met to received a Bronze Star) despite having won a Bronze Star for that action himself. When asked why he got the Bronze Star as well, Mr. Thurlow revealed that he received it based upon a post-action letter written by John Kerry himself. This letter was the reason both Thurlow and Kerry were awarded the Bronze Star.

Anyway, back to Malkin-Thurlow. Former San Francisco mayor "Slick" Willie Brown was also present and spouted "He volunteered twice...He literally go shot. There's no question about any of those things. So what else is there to discuss? How much he got shot? How deep, how much shrapnel?"

Malkin replied, "Well, yes. Why don‘t people ask him more specific questions about the shrapnel in his leg. They are legitimate questions about whether or not it was a self-inflicted wound."

This seemed to set Matthews off, "What do you mean by self-inflicted? Are you saying he shot himself on purpose? Is that what you‘re saying?"

Malkin asked if he had read the book. Matthews didn't answer, he just repeated "I‘m asking a simple question. Are you saying that he shot himself on purpose?" That's all he could ask "Did he shoot himself on purpose?" "Are you saying that he shot himself on purpose?" "Are you accusing him of shooting himself on purpose to avoid combat?" "I want a statement from you on this program, say to me right, that you believe he shot himself to get credit for a purple heart?"
Malkin kept trying to clarify that the veterans in the book "Unfit for Command" were saying he had "self-inflicted wounds." WOUNDS, not "Shot himself in the foot."
After the exchange, Matthews told Mayor Brown thank you and said that he'd be staying with Michelle, but when Hardball came back from the break, Malkin was no longer there.

Matthews later posted on his own Blog, "One of my jobs on 'Hardball' is to cut through to the truth. Tonight on 'Hardball,' one of our guests pushed the idea that John Kerry had won his Purple Heart by deliberately SHOOTING HIMSELF. The charge was without merit and baseless, as our guest under close questioning herself admitted." Huh? First of all, Michelle Malkin did not suggest that Kerry "shot himself," she only pointed out that the book in question suggests that Kerry suffered from "self-inflicted wounds," which it does.

Keith Olberman, who has apparently become a wimp since leaving ESPN, commented later in the same Blog. Talking about Larry Thurlow's claim that John Kerry "had a plan that included not only being a war hero, but getting an ‘early out'"
Olberman writes: "(T)he question formed quickly in my mind. “An ‘early out’? What the hell does he mean by that?" The answer magically appeared moments later: “The Swift Boat Veterans For Truth” are going to steer the Kerry-Shot-Himself flotsam into the mainstream media." Michelle Malkin, the unfortunate and overmatched author...became the harbinger of the next mucky smell of low tide. She raised the story— heretofore consigned largely to Robert Novak and everybody to his right— in that delightful, Teflon way of modern politics: ‘I’m not saying that John Kerry shot himself. But in the Swift Boat Veterans’ book, they ask whether or not his wounds were self-inflicted.’ My colleague Mr. Matthews forced her to hang herself out to dry ten or eleven times (never prouder of you, Chris). He may have directed the momentum, but her wounds were ultimately, uh, self-inflicted. As Chris rightly pointed out, nobody has produced an iota of evidence that John Kerry’s wounds were anything other than the result of combat. Even in the book, the references to it are speculative and without provenance. Ms. Malkin wouldn’t even go so far as to attribute the suspicion to herself. It was in the book."

This, folks is what passes for "journalism" in today's National News Media. I can guaran-damn-tee you that neither Olberman or Matthews have read the book themselves, so when someone else tells them "It's in the book" they see that as passing the buck. Of course, if the National News Media would actually take the time to investigate the book and its charges, they could have guests on their programs to discuss questions that the book brings up rather than just having them discuss what is "in the book." I don't remember this sort of defense of GW when his National Guard Service when nobody had PRODUCED AN IOTA OF EVIDENCE that he didn't fulfill his obligations. I'll give you one week and SOMEONE at the Kerry campaign will be saying "George Bush is trying to say that John Kerry SHOT HIMSELF ON PURPOSE."

Report Exposes Bush Ties to Swift Vets.
That's the headline when you go to MSNBC's homepage right now. Of course, click on the article and the headline changes a bit to, "Bush, his family, have many tiesto Swift Boat vets." You see, George Bush is a Republican from Texas. The guy who has provided most of the funding for the SWIFT Vets for truth is also, sit down now, a Republican from Texas *gasp.* As it turns out, this Texas Republican has (again *gasp*) also FUNDED OTHER TEXAS REPUBLICANS running for office. He has even, hold your breath now, DONATED $2,000 dollars to President Bush's re-election campaign this year. HOLY SHIT! Oh! Will this web of LIES and DECEIT NEVER STOP?! Can't you see that this is all the evidence you need to know that George Bush is privately backing this group of vets? I love this article from MSNBC, though, because it goes on to mention a quote from Jim Jordan:
"Out of desperation, the Bush campaign has picked the wrong fight with the wrong veteran," said Jim Jordan, former Kerry campaign manager who now runs an outside group airing ads against Bush. Go back and read that again while I pound on the wall and throw my keyboard across the room. JIM JORDAN, FORMER KERRY FUCKING CAMPAIGN MANAGER WHO NOW RUNS AN OUTSIDE GROUP AIRING ADS AGAINST BUSH." You see, federal law limits the amount of work former campaign officials can do for outside political groups during the same political cycle in which they worked for a candidate. Jim Jordan works for Media Fund, and used to run the John Kerry for President campaign.

Tomorrow, MSNBC will run the headline "Blog exposes Kerry Ties to Anti-Bush Group." I can't begin to describe the utter state of "Pissed Off" I'm in right now. Normally, I would punctuate my remarks with a few F-Bombs and the like, but maybe Q*Bert can sum up for me: "@!#?@!"

INGRATES!!!!

Well...just shit!
You'd think that the Iraqi National Soccer Team would be happy that they don't have to worry about getting their getting their feet cut off if they didn't perform well in the Olympics.

As it turns out, they're a buncha damn ingrates:
"We don’t wish for the presence of Americans in our country. We want them to go away," said Salih Sadir, a 2nd string midfielder from Najaf.

"How will he (Bush) meet his god having slaughtered so many men and women? He has committed so many crimes," said Ahmed Manajid, a 2nd string forward from Fallujah. This little bastard goes even further by saying if he weren't playing soccer he would be fighting as part of the resistance in Fallujah.

Team Iraq takes on Austrailia Saturday. I'm pulling for the Aussies. That way the Iraqis can hurry up and go home, take up their AK-47s and some Marine can shoot them. Or at least that little turd Manajid.

Speaking of the Olympics, I saw this story on NBC last night. The Greek Olympic Baseball team has 24 players. 2 are actually from Greece, the rest of the players are American. Why? Because Greece doesn't have an Olympic baseball program. Since the host country is automatically granted seeds in all sports, they needed to fill out a baseball roster. But no one in Greece plays baseball. So the Greek baseball Federation contaced Peter Angelos, a Greek-American that owns the Baltimore Orioles, to put together a team to compete for Greece. Angelos made a call for American players with Greek heritage to try out for the Greek national team. I'm not sure how I feel about this. For one, its nice to see the host country be able to compete. On the other hand, part of me wants to label the players on the Greek team TURNCOATS, considering our own USA team didn't go to the Olypics because it lost in a single-elimination game to an 0-3 Mexican team (who only got to play because the team the USA was supposed to play dropped out.) So if the Greeks win a medal, I think it should be awarded to both countries. If they win Gold, both anthems should be played.

No Olympics Today

Just some political stuff.
First we have Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) calling Dick Cheney a coward. Sen. Harkin in the past has bragged about his flying combat air patrols in F-4s and F-8 in Vietnam in the past. But as it turns out, Harkin never flew ANY combat missions. Harkin's service in the Navy mainly consisted of ferrying aircraft from Japan to the Phillipines. So Harkin, a real, actual, honest to God LIAR, calls Cheney a "coward" because he went to college instead of fighting in Vietnam. I want to take the time to remind you that the people who question Dubya's "avoiding Vietnam" and call Cheney a "coward" are the same people who never attacked William "I spent the summer in Moscow" Clinton for ACTUALLY avoiding the draft and hated people who served in Vietnam anyway. The only time they seem to welcome Vietnam Vets is when they served for four months and got band-aid purple hearts.

And the Kerry campaign trainwreck:
Original statement:
"I remember being in Vietnam...being shot at by the Khmer Rouge and South Vietnamese celebrating Christmas in 1968 while President Nixon was telling people I wasn't there. That memory is seared, seared into my memory. (SEARED, DAMMIT!)"

Well, now Kerry historian Doug Brinkley has clarified for us. Mr. Brinkley is telling us that Kerry is mis-remembering, he was in Cambodia in January. SEARED, I TELL YOU!

Now, just to recap. We have a presidential candidate running for the presidency based SOLELY ON HIS ACCOMPLISHMENTS DURING 4 MONTHS IN VIETNAM! Nothing from his 20 years in the US Senate. There are questions surrounding A) the circumstances under which he received his purple hearts and bronze star; B) his statement that he was in Cambodia during Christmas, 1968. Nobody in the National News Media, even bats an eye. George Bush (who did NOT use his National Guard Service as a campaign issue) has questions surround that service, and the media DEMANDS an investigation. What biased National News Media?

GO USA!
08.16.04 (4:58 pm)   [edit]
Not much, just a few random thoughts about the 2004 Summer Olympics.

For me, the most inspiring things watching the opening ceremonies were A) Seeing the Iraqi national team come in. Isn't it great to know that these Iraqis can go play soccer with out worrying about getting their feet cut off if they lose? B) Seeing the Afghani national team come in. For the first time, the Afghani team includes WOMEN! You'll note that neither would be possible if weren't for us evil capitalist, imperialist Americans.

How embarassing is it that the USA baseball team didn't qualify for the 2004 Olympics? We invented the sport for Pete's sake. Now, in Team USA's defense, it failed to qualify for bogus reasons. Only two slots are alotted for the western hemisphere for teams to go to the Olympics. The US team went 3-0 in pool play and advanced to one of the two single-elimination games that determine the Olympic qualifiers. The Mexicans were 0-3, but advanced to the qualifying game when the team seeded to play the US forfeited by not showing up. USA lost 2-1 on a homerun in the 9th. The US outscored its opponents 22-2 in the tournament, the only two runs the team allowed were the two that knocked them out of the tournament. Team USA had also beaten the Mexicans 9 straight times this summer in exhibition play. So now the 2000 gold medalist team won't be playing in the Olympics. I wish the MLB players would take a cue from the NHL and play in the Olympics.

Speaking of embarassments, how about that USA basketball team? They lost. To Puerto Rico. By 19 points. I watched this game, and it was abundantly clear that someone had kidnapped the USA basketball team and replaced them with the Washington Generals. Team USA have won 12 gold medals in 14 Olympics. Team USA has only lost 3 games since it began competing in the Olympics, including yesterday's embarassment. To me, the original 1992 DREAM TEAM was the penultimate basketball team. These weren't the best players in the Eastern or Western Conference, or the best players in the NBA at the time, these were the best players IN THE WORLD. EVER. Just look at the roster of the original DREAM TEAM; Barkley, Bird, Drexler, Magic, Jordan, Malone, Pippen, Stockton, Robinson. You don't even have both names to know who I'm talking about. This team didn't just beat the competion, they DESTROYED other teams. Their smallest margin of victory was 33 points. Now look at the newest edition of the Dream team: The two biggest stars are Tim Duncan and Allen Iverson who are arguably, at best, the best the NBA has to offer. The others, Boozer, Anthony, James, Jefferson, Marbury, Marion, Odom, Okafor, Stoudemire, Wade. Who? My thoughts exactly.
What's the solution? For one, they could get this team together sooner than two weeks before competion. The point is to assemble a TEAM, not just throw together some guys who happen to play in the NBA. You can't jel as a team with two weeks of practice. How does Dwayne Wade, who plays for the Miami Heat, know how Lamar Odom, who plays for the Lakers, is going to play the post? The DREAM TEAM could jel as a team only because they were guys who had been playing in the NBA FOREVER. Magic and Bird knew each other inside and out. Jordan had the best basketball talent of any human that has ever walked the earth. These guys KNEW each other, had played against each other in the playoffs, had studied each other. The newest edition of the Dream Team is comprised mainly of sixth men, and guys who have relatively NO experience (two of the players haven't even played college ball.) TEAM is the important concept here. If you took any of the 25 NBA teams (except Toronto, maybe) and allowed them to play as Team USA, I have no doubt in my mind that they could bring home the gold. They have practiced and played together as a TEAM. The buzzword going around is that "the rest of the world has caught up." That isn't true, Team USA is lagging behind itself.

Well, that's it for the negatives. Tomorrow, the positives.

You're running for President of the United States. About, oh, say 35 years ago, you served in the Armed Forces in some capacity. The National Guard maybe. Say that a good part of your campaign is the fact that you served in the Armed Forces. Now say a group of people YOU SERVED with (not some reporter, not some "investigative journalist" or party hack, but people you actually SERVED with) came out questioning whether you are fit to serve as commander-in-chief. Say this group of people number 250+. Also, say this group of people has even written a book, detailing the reasons why you aren't fit to serve. This book shows you are a liar, an opportunist, and a career politician. You'd think this would be a story in the National News Media, wouldn't you? Well, if you are George Bush, it WOULD be a huge story. If you are John F'ing Kerry, the people questioning your record get attacked. Remember Joe Wilson? He's the guy who's report George Bush based his infamous 16 words on. Joe Wilson said Bush lied, and the media had a Joe Wilson orgy. He was every network. Then the Senate Intelligence Committee proved that Joe Wilson was a liar. Nobody talks about him any more. You never hear he is a liar, he just isn't talked about. His damage was done, and that was good enough for our friend in the "unbiased" National Media. The only people questioning Joe Wilson were Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter.

Well, now we've got this group, the Swift Vets for Truth. If you've heard about them anywhere other than Fox News, or Rush, or Hannity, you've heard how the DNC is saying they are liars and sending out the ambulance chasers to tell TV stations not to air their ads. Here's the fundamental difference. To get his story out, all Joe Wilson had to say was "Bush Lied!" and the Media has an orgasm. To get their story out, these 254 VETERANS (Don't you DARE challenge John Kerry, he's a veteran. Those veterans, though, you can trash, they're Republicans) have to buy air time, and even then, the DNC sends their lawyers out to stop them. But the National News Media isn't biased, are they?

Here's the latest example to show how John Kerry is an honest man. A statement he made back in a letter to the Boston Herald in 1979:

"I remember spending Christmas Eve of 1968 five miles across the Cambodian border being shot at by our South Vietnamese allies who were drunk and celebrating Christmas. The absurdity of almost being killed by our own allies in a country in which PRESIDENT NIXON claimed there were no American troops was very real." The problem here is President Nixon may have been ELECTED in 1968, but he wasn't SWORN IN as president until January 20, 1969.

"Maybe he was confused, maybe he said the wrong year. Maybe he was just saying that he was in Cambodia in 1968, and Nixon was saying that troops had NEVER been in Cambodia, EVER. Maybe he meant Lyndon Johnson, " you might say.

To refute that he may have been confused and said the wrong year, that isn't possible. Kerry only served 4 months in Vietnam. He reported for duty in Cam Ranh Bay on Nov. 17, 1968 and and sent home in March of '69, so he ain't confused. There is no evidence or claims that Lyndon Johnson ever sent troops into Cambodia.

John Kerry said in a speech to the Senate in 1986, "I remember Christmas of 1968 sitting on a gunboat in Cambodia. I remember what it was like to be shot at by Vietnamese and Khmer Rouge and Cambodians, and have the president of the United States telling the American people that I was not there; the troops were not in Cambodia..."
He seems to be suggesting here that the President was saying he was not in Cambodia WHILE he was there. As I said earlier, there are no claims that troops were in Cambodia when LBJ was president. Nixon wasn't president when Kerry claims to have been there.

In any event, this is from Kerry's own website.
December 24, 1968 - "Kerry involved in COMBAT during the Christmas Eve truce of 1968. The truce was three minutes old when mortar fire exploded around Lieutenant Kerry and his five-man crew. Reacting swiftly, John Kerry and his crew SILENCED THE MACHINE GUN NEST."
We'll just ignore how MORTAR FIRE can come from a MACHINE GUN. Here, Kerry seems to be suggesting that he was involved in combat with enemy forces. In his 1979 letter, Kerry says that he was fired at by South Vietnamese (our allies) celebrating Christmas, although he does not mention Christmas Eve specifically. So these are the possibilities here:
1) John Kerry WAS in Cambodia in December, 1968. He was either fired upon by friendlies, and he returned fire, killing them. OR, he was fired upon by both friendlies and later involved in combat with Vietnamese, Cambodians, and Khmer Rouge on the same day, and he killed them. OR, he was fired upon on Christmas Eve by enemy fire (according to his website), and fired upon on Christmas day by friendly fire (if he was "shot at by (his) South Vietnamese allies who were...celebrating Christmas," more than likely they weren't celebrating on any day other than Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, right?
2) John Kerry is a LIAR.

Of course, I'm sure our friends in the National News Media will get down to the bottom of this, huh? Maybe Michael Moore can make a documentary about it.

The good 'ol days

Ahh, here it is. My favorite time of year. The end of summer, beginning of fall (my personal favorite season.) NFL pre-season games are here, meaning just a month until the regular season. NASCAR* is in the middle of its season, with the night race at Bristol Motor Speedway just a few weeks away. The start of NHL regular season is just two short months away. Leaves start falling off the trees, the air seems cleaner and crisper, and to top it all off, IT'S AN ELECTION YEAR!

I know, I know, not my usual blog. It's positive and all, you know. Don't worry, I'll be back in form tomorrow. Just kind of illustrates how, even when things seem kind of crappy something comes along to brighten your day, if only for a little bit.

One quick Kerry flip-flop: "Saying there are weapons of mass destruction in Iraq doesn't make it so." "I will be a commander in chief who will never mislead us into war." These statements John Kerry made in his speech at the DNC a couple of weeks ago. Well, yesterday while campaigning at the Grand Canyon (and that's not a metaphor for his "better half's" big mouth) John Kerry told those few in attendance that he would have STILL voted to go to war with Iraq, even if he knew at the time that there would be no WMD's in Iraq. So, on the one hand he BLAMES president Bush for "mis-leading" the nation into war, and on the other hand he tells us he would have STILL gone to war. So what's the problem? If I wanted to go to Taco Bell, and some guy tells me he will take me to Taco Bell because they have Frito Burritos (bring 'em back Taco Bell, ya hear me?), and we get there and there aren't Frito Burritos...I still got to go to Taco Bell. To be fair, Kerry does say that once he went to war, he "would have done things very differently." Which seems to be a recurring theme of his campaign. He still agrees that tax cuts/war in Iraq/etc. are the right thing to do, but he would do those things "very differently." Of course, he never actually says HOW he would do things "very differently." Not to beat a dead horse, but imagine if this guy was a Republican.

* NASCAR
Yeah, most of you "enlightened" hoity-toity types are rolling your eyes because I like a Redneck Cracker Sport. Well, I don't know about cracker, but I am a redneck at heart, and I do enjoy a good race on Sunday afternoon. But for those of you that, for some reason, still believe that car racing is not a sport, I want you to set up a little experiment. Next Sunday, when you're sitting around the house, why don't you go on down to the nearest empty parking lot. Set yourself up a half mile oval shaped track. Make the front and back stretches about 800 feet long (about two and a half football fields) and set them about 350 feet apart. Put on a pair of long johns, blue jeans, flannel shirt, some hightop tennis shooes, a pair of ski gloves and a fully enclosed helmet. Hop in your car and start driving around your course. Turn off your air conditioner (you can roll down both front windows if you want.) Drive as fast as you can, the closer you get to loosing control of your car without actually spinning out, the better. Just for fun, ask 42 of your friends to come drive on the track with you at the same time. No cheating, everyone has to drive as fast and as hard as possible. The only time you can stop is when you need gas. All 43 cars have to stop around the same time. You can only take as much gas as you can get in 14 seconds. Do that for three hours and come back and tell me race car drivers aren't athletes. Yes, anybody can turn left. Not everybody can make the car stick when it counts (i.e. going 140 MPH with 42 other drivers right behind you, some willing to move your ass out of the way.)

NOTE: The above set up is the same as Martinsville Speedway, the SHORTEST and SLOWEST track in NASCAR Nextel Cup.

Don't you just love Democrats?

John Kerry Presidential campaign advisor and former-Clinton advisor Sandy Berger gets caught stealing sensitive documents from the National Archives. (Side Note: Have you heard ANYTHING about this in the last few days? I haven't. It only happened three weeks ago. Compare that to coverage of Abu Ghraib*, below) A group of vets write a book basically ripping Kerry's "Service to Country." So what do the Democrats do? They "question the timing" of these events. NOTE: they don't refute the claims, they don't defend against the charges leveled at them, they just question the timing. And I'm not saying "THEY" as in Kerry's Kampaign Kritters, I mean "THEY as in Kerry's Kritters, Democrats in Congress, and even the unbiased national news media. Let's hearken back to 2000 when, scant DAYS before the 2000 election, news about GWB's 1976 DUI charge surfaced. Back then, the only questioning THAT leak's timing was that "evil succubus," Karen Hughes.

Do you remember the 2000 campaign when the NAACP aired a campaign where the sister of James Byrd said, "It was like my brother was killed all over again" because GWB refused to sign a Hate Crimes bill into law? How many people attacked that ad? Skip ahead to this year, we have this group of veterans who have an ad where they stated that they "served with John Kerry" and one-by-one they state "John Kerry is not fit to serve as Commander in Chief." This ad begins with a quick statement from John Edwards "If you have any question about what John Kerry's made of, just spend three minutes with the men who served with him..." Well, now we have a letter from lawyers for the DNC and John Kerry that demands TV stations not air the ad from the Swift Vets. The letter states "not a single one of the men who pretend to have served with Sen. Kerry was actually a crewmate of John Kerry's...,not a single one of these men served on either of Sen. Kerry's two SWIFT boats." The problem here is, NONE of these men have ever claimed to have served ON one of Kerry's boats. They have merely claimed to have served WITH Kerry in Vietnam, specifically with John Kerry in Coastal Division 11, which this photo clearly shows. Coastal Division 11 was made up of about 15 boats and 100 or so men. Each of the men in this photo were OIC's (Officers in Charge) of a Swift boat in Coast. Div. 11, not just crewmembers. So, while it is PROBABLY true that none of these men served ON THE SAME BOAT with John Kerry, it is VERY TRUE that these men served alongside John Kerry. The next claim in the letter is that the "doctor" who says he treated John Kerry for his first purple heart (he has three, just in case you didn't know) is not really a doctor. The letter is sure to make a point to put the word "doctor" in quotes, and even goes so far as to say "The statements made by the phony 'crewmates' and 'doctor' who appear in the advertisement are also totally, demonstrably and unequivocally false, and libelous." The problem is, the "doctor" in the ad is DOCTOR Louis Letson. DOCTOR Letson is a retired General Practicioner, and served as the Medical Officer at Naval Support Facility Cam Ranh Bay. The "physician" who "actually signed John Kerry's sick-call sheet" was a medic serving under DOCTOR Letson (medics are not trained doctors, they are more like military EMTs.)

The letter then goes on to basically threaten stations not to air the ad:
"Your station is not obliged to accept this advertisement for broadcast nor is it required to account in any way for its decision to reject such an advertisement." "...Your station may freely refuse this advertisement. Because your station has this freedom, and because it is not a "use" of your facilities by a clearly identified candidate, your station is responsible for the false and libelous claims made by this sponsor. Moreover, as a licensee, you have an overriding duty "to protect the public from false, misleading or deceptive advertising. Under the circumstances, your station may not responsibly air this advertisement...Please contact us promptly at either of the phone numbers below to advise us regarding the status of this advertisement." Of course, John Kerry can EASILY put to bed all of these "misleading and libelous" statements from the Swift Vets. All he has to do is release all of his medical records pertaining to his Purple Hearts to prove them wrong. I wonder if anyone out there in the mainstream media has the BALLS to ask John Kerry outright a question like "Did Louis Letson treat you for the wound you received your first Purple Heart for?"

* A quick Google of "Abu Ghraib" reveals: Abu Ghraib "victim" interviews on ABC's Nightline dated 08/08/04 plus numerous articles talking about PFC England's court-martial dated from the last few days. Compare that to coverage of Sandy Berger, just TWO articles about Sandy Berger dated within the LAST WEEK. Both are links to Ann Coulter's column from August 5. The most recent article after that is from WorldNet Daily, a conservative news site. So here we have two examples. Both happened last year and were leaked to the media recently. One can only be linked to the President because it happened during his administration. One can be directly linked to a presidential candidate because the guy WORKED FOR THAT CANDIDATE's CAMPAIGN. One was mentioned for a week and then dropped. One's been hammered on EVERY SINGLE DAY for THREE FUCKING MONTHS! Guess which one hurt's GWB...

We sat there and Couldn't Think
08.06.04 (12:58 pm)   [edit]
So, John Kerry was addressing the Unity Convention yesterday. While there, he informed the journalists in attendance that he would have reacted faster than the president upon learning that terrorists had attacked the World Trade Center. He said, "First of all, had I been reading to children and had my top aid whispered in my ear 'America is under attack,' I would have told those kids very politely and nicely that the President of the United States had something that he needed to attend to."

Well, let's take a look at what John Kerry told Larry King about his ACTUAL reaction to the attacks:
"I was in the Capitol. We'd just had a meeting -- we'd just come into a leadership meeting in Tom Daschle's office, looking out at the Capitol. And as I came in, Barbara Boxer and Harry Reid were standing there, and we watched the second plane come in to the building. And we shortly thereafter sat down at the table and then we just realized NOBODY COULD THINK (emphasis added), and then boom, right behind us, we saw the cloud of explosion at the Pentagon. And then word came from the White House, they were evacuating, and we were to evacuate, and so we immediately began the evacuation."

Here at our media research center (which basically consists of me and Google), we've been able to construct a timeline of some of the events during the 9/11 attacks.

8:46:26 am - American Airlines Flight 11 is flown into the north tower of the WTC. President Bush is in his motorcade, enroute to Booker Elementary school in Sarasota, Fl. Senator Kerry is apparently in a meeting in Sen. Tom Daschle's office.

8:55 am (approx.) - President Bush's motorcade arrives at Booker Elementary.

8:55 - 9:00 am - Advisor Karl Rove takes president Bush aside and informs him that an airplane has hit the WTC, Bush says his first thought was "what a terrible pilot."

9:02:54 am - United Airlines Flight 175 is flown into the south tower fo the WTC. John Kerry, having apparently been informed of the first plane crash, watches the second crash on television. He relizes he is "unable to think" shortly thereafter.

9:03 am (approx.) - President Bush enters a Booker classrooms to visit with some elementary students and participate in some reading drills with them.

9:06 am (approx.) - Advisor Andrew Card informs Bush that a second plane has hit the WTC.

9:13 am (according to Michael Moore, 7 minutes later) - President Bush finishes the reading drills with the students and thanks them for showing him their reading skills. He then informs school principle of the attacks and explains why he has to leave early. He meets in an empty classroom with his staff to discuss matters. He also converses with Condi Rice, VP Cheney, and NY Gov. George Pataki on the phone. John Kerry is still unable to think.

9:29 am - President Bush holds a press conference at Booker Elementary in front of about 200 students, informing the students and the press in attendance of the attacks. John Kerry - still can't think.

9:34 am - President Bush's motorcade leaves Booker Elementary for Sarasota's airport where Air Force One was wating. This is a scant 28 minutes after learning of the second attack, which confirmed for President Bush that the country was under attack. John Kerry - is he thinking yet?

9:38 am - American Airlines Flight 77 is flown into the side of the Pentagon. Sometime after this, John Kerry, still apparently unable to think, has to be given the order to evacuate the Capitol building, probably one of the most recognizable landmarks in Washington DC.

9:43 am - President Bush arrives at Sarasota's airport.

9:56 am - Air Force One departs Sarasota's airport, less than an hour after President Bush learns that the first crash was not an accident.

John Kerry, however, would like you to believe that had HE been president, he would have immediately lept from his chair at 9:06 am and run out the door screaming "Holy Sh*t! We're under attack! Sorry, kids, but the President of the United States has go!" He probably would have immediately flown to New York to address the United Nations and IMPLORE them to make a motion to pass a resolution to consider asking Osama bin Laden to pretty-please-with-sugar- on-top knock it off. He did, after all, serve in Vietnam.

I hate Michael Moore so much....
My small group of readers may have divined by now that I ain't too crazy about Michael Moore. I don't know what it is about him. Maybe its that he gets away with being this great "documentary" film maker when, if he was a Republican the national news media would have a field day with all of the falsehoods and misleading information in his films. Perhaps its the fact that he's just so fat. So very SMUG and fat. He knows no one in the national media is going to question him, they're on his side. Maybe its the fact that he's still crying that Gore won Florida (Moore voted for Nader in 2000, maybe he should blame himself), when USA Today has documented that Bush won Florida using every recount standard, but one. Bush lost the recount under that one standard by 3 VOTES. Gore lost every recount using the standards that HIS TEAM wanted to use. Of course, in 2000, Moore seemed to think it would be Gore's fault if he lost the election.

In fact, in Moore's newest mock-u-mentary he showed the December 19th, 2001 edition of an Illinois newspaper, The Pantagraph, with the front page headline "Latest Florida Recount Shows Gore Won Election." Somebody at the Pantagraphhas a watchful eye, because the paper has sent a letter to Mr. Moore demanding an apology. That headline did not appear on or in the December 19th edition of the Pantagraph. Nor did that headline EVER appear on the front page of the Pantagraph. The headline actually appeared in the December 5, 2001 edition of the paper. On the Opinions page. Over a Letter to the Editor. In other words, the headline was just a summary of a letter to the editor, which, unfortunately, can be written by a mis-informed person. Also, the copy of the paper shown in Moore's movie, while using the correct font for the paper's name, did not represent what the actual paper looks like.

I think this is what I hate most about Michael the Hutt. The fact that he is basically a hack. He chops up facts, figures and headlines to suit his propagandist purposes. He says one thing one day, then says something else the next (I voted for Nader, but I wanted Gore to win, and George Bush stole the election, and I don't want Nader to run in 2004). He does this with impunity because the national news media is so caught up in their hatred of George Bush and their desire to remove him from the Oval Office that they'll push any goofy asshole off on you if they think he has a shot to get the guy out of office. Facts and Objectivity be damned. Yeah, that's what I hate about him MOST.

Not so fast, Vietnam Vets!

Vets Against Kerry
Well, some folks out there have been dissing John Kerry's war record, questioning things like the manner in which he received his purple hearts, the length of time he served, his accusations after the war, etc. We won't bring up the fact that the people bring up his Vietnam service as a qualification for Commander in Chief CAN'T COME UP WITH ANYTHING ELSE, even though he's served 20 YEARS in the US Senate. We'll also ignore that the very same people who are using Kerry's Vietnam Service were the people spitting on the guys coming home from that war and calling them baby killers. Also, forget the very service he is bragging on now, he rebuked and rebuffed 25 years ago.

But we will focus on the fact that these people were defending John Kerry, saying "If you didn't serve in Vietnam, you aren't qualified to criticize his service."

Well, we finally got some Vets to step forward and criticize John Kerry's war record. What's the reply? "Uh uh, not so fast there, bucko."

It seems there are some out there attacking some of the funding this group has received. Specifically, the group received about $100,00 from a Mr. Bob Perry of Houston. What is so "suspicious" you may ask? Mr. Perry has been a major contributor to the Texas Republican party. That's it. No money under the table from Dick Cheney or John Ashcroft. No back room deals with Bush "hitmen." A guy has given money to both the Swift Vets and lots of Republicans. It isn't mentioned that Mr. Perry has also funded some Democrats, mostly in the Houston area. Here's a pretty good article on 527's that have received in excess of $15 MILLION from him. Mr. Soros, as you know, can be classified as a "left-wing nutcase." Mr. Perry donates $100,000, he's an evil rich thug for the republican party. Mr. Soros donates FIFTEEN MILLION, he's just a regular guy. Go ahead, TRY to find a group of Vets FOR John Kerry.

More Peaceful Muslims
Well, two peaceful Muslims have been arrested in NY for trying to purchase a shoulder fired missile in order to assassinate the Pakistani ambassador. These men were CLERICS of the Masjid As-Salaam House of Peace. Yassin Muhhiddin Aref, the Imam (or male prayer leader) of the Mosque, and Mohammed Mosharref Hossain, founder, were both arrested after attempting to purchase a missle from an FBI informant who told the men he was affiliated with the Jaish-e-Mohammed (Army of Mohommed.)

When can we round up all of the non-citizen muslims in this country and stick them on a boat, or in a plane or whatever and get them the hell out of this country until we have resolved this situation. How many of you just cringed at that question? How many of you don't want offend Muslims by asking them to undergo more scrutiny at the airport than a 90 year old Granny in a wheel chair? To borrow a quote from John Kerry himself, "How do you ask a man to be the last man to die because we didn't want to hurt somebody's feelings?"

Fixed this post (8/4/04)

Okay, this is NOT a traditional blog today. I am writing today to tell you about the BEST NFL game on the PS2 EVER! Sega's ESPN NFL 2K5. Just bought it last week, and it is scary good. This game has it all. Its as deep as Madden has ever been, its prettier, and plays better. The kicker is, its only $19.99. This game is a steal. If you like football, own a PS2 (or XBOX), you OWE it to yourself to buy this game. But here's the scary thing. One of the new features is the Virtual Identity Profile (VIP) system. The game watches the way you play the game, notices your play selection, tendencies toward certain defenses, hell, even your favorite position to play. It then creates a VIP file of you, basically an AI ghost that will play JUST like you. You can save your VIP and let others practice against your VIP, or you can practice against your buddy's VIP. Or you can practice against yourself and find what your weaknesses and strengths are. What scares me is how accurate this VIP system is. This AI basically can mimic human behavior. If we can put this kind of technology in a video game, what about AI with REAL WORLD applications. Think about it. (I'm sort of joking, don't get your panties in a wad!)

*
SKYNET
, a military supercomputer that controls America's nuclear arsenal in the not too distant future (at least in the Terminator movies.) SKYNET was an AI that became sentient or "self-aware." Having lost control of SKYNET, its human operators decide to shut it down. SKYNET, seeing this as a threat to its existence, decides to wipe humanity out.

Vets for Kerry? Swift Boat Vets for Truth Have you seen that photo of John Kerry and his fellow Swift Boat Officers? 12 of thos 19 men say Kerry is "unfit to serve as CIC." Only 1 supports Kerry.
